A Gurmat camp for parents was organized at
Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Fresno on June 23 2012. A sangat of about fifty
people attended this camp, in which Prof. Gurcharan Singh, a visiting katha
vachak, shared a brief history of the social contributions of the Sikh Gurus
and explained at length how parents can teach Gurmat principles, Punjabi
language, and Gurbani shabads to their children. Through a slide show
presentation, Prof. Singh showed how parents can introduce children from as
young as newborn to as old as eighteen years to Gurbani and Punjabi
language. The camp went on for four hours with a break for langar. It was
widely appreciated by the parents who attended.
