ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ। ਨਵੇਂ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ’ਚ ਘੁੰਮਣ ਜਾਂ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ
ਪੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਅਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਮਹਾਨਗਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੁੰਬਈ ਦੀਆਂ
ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਾਲ (34 ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ) ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਦਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ
ਹੈ ਜਦਕਿ 12 ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਹਿਮਦਾਬਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਗਲੌਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਸਥਾਨ ’ਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੈਰ-ਸਪਾਟਾ ਵੈਬਸਾਈਟ ਟ੍ਰਿਪ ਐਡਵਾਈਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਔਰਤਾਂ
ਵਿਰੁਧ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ’ਚ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ
ਕਾਰਨ 84 ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਅਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਮਹਾਨਗਰ ਦਸਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ’ਚ 64 ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੇਸ਼ ’ਚ ਇਕੱਲਿਆਂ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ
ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਹੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪੱਖੋਂ ਚਿੰਤਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ
ਅਜਿਹੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ 6 ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਇਕੱਲਿਆਂ
ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ’ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਕਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ 33
ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਜਾਂ ਓਪਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ
ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਸਵੈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਾਮਾਨ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪੇਪਰ ਸਪਰੇਅ) ਅਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਰਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
37 ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਲਿਆਂ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਨ ’ਚ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ
ਹੁੰਦੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਅਪਣੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਚਿੰਤਤ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ
ਕੰਮਕਾਜੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਿਜੀ ਵਪਾਰ ਵੀ
ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ ਵੀ ਸੰਭਾਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Delhi has been voted as
the most unsafe metro city in the country by women travelling alone
for leisure, business or both, a recent survey has found.
Mumbai
was rated as the safest metropolitan city by a majority of respondents
(34 per cent), while Ahmedabad and Bangalore were voted second with 12
per cent votes each.
"Due to the recent spate of
crime against women, the national capital has gained notoriety with 84
per cent women claiming it to be the most unsafe metro," the solo
women traveler survey 2013 conducted by travel portal TripAdvisor,
said.
It also brought to light
the disturbing fact that 94 per cent of female respondents worry about
their safety, always or at least sometimes, when they travel alone in
India but not when they travel to international destinations.
Only six per cent women
said they worry when they travel abroad alone but not in India while
24 per cent respondents said they worry when they travel in
India.Despite the fear and worry, only 33 per cent women said they
carry any item for self defense (like a taser, or pepper spray) when
travelling to a new or unfamiliar city.
Among women who said they
travel alone on work, 37 per cent women said they don't mind traveling
alone but worry about their safety. The survey was conducted among
working women a number of self employed, as well as homemakers.
Breaking from tradition, Indian women seek adventure and experience
and are confident, enthused and eager to travel on their own terms.
