When innocent lives are lost through the
actions of the very government that is duty-bound to protect
them, with no accountability or explanation, and when
journalists and human rights groups are denied the ability to
provide independent observations of state military action, we
have the obligation, as citizens of a democratic nation, to ask
why and seek honest answers on behalf of our citizens.

Singh Khalra as a Human Rights Defender
WHEREAS Jaswant Singh Khalra's investigation of thousands of
cases of missing, murdered and disappeared Sikhs in the Punjab
earned him recognition from Amnesty International as a defender
of human rights;
WHEREAS Jaswant Singh Khalra visited Canada and presented his
findings to Canadians and Members of Parliament immediately
before his forced disappearance in 1995;
BE IT RESOLVED THAT New Democrats recognize Jaswant Singh Khalra
as an important defender of human rights and in his memory,
recommit to the pursuit of justice and transparency
characterized by our shared values of truth, justice and respect
of human rights |

ਹੋਣ। ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੀਏ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵੈਬ ਸਾਈਟ ਨੂੰ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ / ਨੌਜਵਾਨ /
ਬੱਚੇ / ਬੀਬੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੀਆਂ / ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ। ਫੇਕ ਆਈ.ਡੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੇ
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਚ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਕਹੀ
ਜਾਂਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ / ਬਾਬਾ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ / ਸ. ਬਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ
ਰਾਜੋਆਣਾ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਅਤਿ ਘਟੀਆ ਦਰਜੇ ਦੀ
ਸ਼ਬਦਾਵਲੀ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਗੇ ਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੀ ਸੋਚ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ
ਹਨ ਉਹ ਵੀ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਠਕਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ
ਜਲੂਸ ਨਾ ਕੱਢੋ। ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦੀ, ਤਾਂ ਦਲੀਲ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੋ।

ਮਤਲਬ ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਗਾਲੀ ਗਲੌਚ, ਨੀਚ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਆਸ ਹੈ, ਬੇਨਤੀ

ਰਹਾਂਗੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਹਰ ਉਸ ਸਿੱਖ / ਸਿੱਖ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਦੇਵਾਂਗੇ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ
ਸਿਰਫ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ 'ਤੇ ਹੋਵੇ, ਸੱਚ ਬੋਲਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ 'ਤੇ ਪਹਿਰਾ ਦੇਣ
ਦੀ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖਲੋ ਕੇ ਜਾਬਰ ਕਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ। |
